What are Worry Free Moving's rates?

Local moves are charged hourly based on crew size, starting at $75 per person per hour. Interstate moves are priced using weight-based rates per hundred-weight (CWT) multiplied by distance, plus labor at $75 per person per hour for loading, unloading, and packing. All rates are published in our tariff and include a Not-to-Exceed guarantee.

How is shipment weight calculated for interstate moves?

For interstate moves, your shipment is weighed at a certified scale before and after loading. The difference is your shipment weight. A $75 weigh fee covers this process. Your quote estimate uses standard furniture weights to project the total, and the actual cost is based on verified scale weight.

What fees apply to my move?

Standard fees include labor (hourly), fuel surcharge (14% on transport), and a weigh fee ($75 for interstate). Moves over 100 miles include a travel fee for crew transit time. Moves over 200 miles may include an overnight fee ($200 per crew member). Packing supplies are charged only if requested. Our full fee schedule is published in the tariff above.

Billing Methods by Move Type

We offer two billing methods based on your move type:

Local Moves (same state): Billed hourly - simple, transparent, pay for actual time used. Distance adjustment applies based on mileage.

Interstate Moves (crossing state lines): Combination billing - loading hours + transportation (per mile/per 100 lbs) + unloading hours + fuel surcharge. FMCSA compliant.

Part A: Local Move Rates (Hourly Billing)

For all moves within the same state, regardless of distance. Simple hourly billing from arrival to completion with distance adjustment.

Return Trip Fee

Return Trip Fee: When your move's final destination is more than 80 miles from our Boardman base, a return trip fee applies. This fee covers half of the estimated drive time for each crew member to return home after completing your move, calculated at the per-person hourly rate. For example, a 3-person crew with a destination 100 miles away (approximately 2 hours estimated drive time) would be charged 1 hour per person at the hourly rate.
